Side Effects
In addition to the side effects and complications mentioned above, local skin numbness or reduced sensation may also occur, typically resolving gradually within a period after surgery.
The side effects and complications mentioned above are as follows:
- Infection: If sterilization is not rigorous during the procedure or postoperative care is inadequate, infection may occur, manifesting as local redness, swelling, pain, and fever.
- Hematoma: Blood vessels may be damaged during liposuction or injection, leading to local bleeding and hematoma formation. Small hematomas usually resolve gradually after surgery, but larger ones may require further intervention.
- Fat liquefaction: Some transplanted fat cells may not survive and undergo liquefaction, resulting in local swelling and fluid discharge.
- Local unevenness: Uneven injection or uneven fat absorption may cause irregularities in the temples, necessitating secondary revision.
- Fat embolism: Although rare, if fat particles enter the bloodstream, they can cause vascular embolism, leading to severe consequences such as blindness or cerebral infarction.
